Capital Campaign Readiness Ah, the capital campaign — the King of Fundraising… and where many great charities have taken their biggest leap forward. A capital campaign can help you raise significant funds to build something new, expand a program, or launch a major initiative. But it’s important to be honest: it’s not for everyone — and it’s not the right time for every organization. In my experience, it’s not the campaign itself that causes challenges… it’s starting before you’re truly ready. That’s where things can go off the rails, and where frustration (and cost) can build quickly. Capital Campaign Readiness is about making sure your organization is set up for success before you begin. It starts with a thoughtful assessment of your organization to evaluate the likelihood of success, identify risks, and highlight what needs to be strengthened. It involves listening closely to your internal and external stakeholders — including program staff, board members, volunteers, and donors — to understand how your organization is perceived and whether there’s strong support for what you’re trying to build. We also explore an important question: Can your community realistically raise the funds you need — and do the right people believe in this vision enough to help lead it? Because campaigns are built on more than a good project. They’re built on confidence, credibility, and the right leadership at the table. And that’s where I can help.
